Cookie policy for www.treivet.com

The websites of TreI SPA use cookies and similar technologies to ensure their procedures are running properly and to improve the user experience of their online applications. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, on how they are used by TreI SPA and on how to manage them. We recommend reading the Personal Data Protection Code [applicable consolidated text] for more information on this subject.

Definitions

Cookies are small fragments of text (letters and/or numbers) that allow the web server to save information with clients (on their browsers) to be reused during the same visit to the website (session cookies) or thereafter in several days’ time (persistent cookies). The cookies are saved, depending on users’ preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc).
Similar technologies, such as web beacons, transparent GIFs and all other forms of local storage introduced by HTML5, are used to collect information on how users behave and use the services.
In the following document we will refer to cookies and all other similar technologies simply by using the term “cookie”.

Types of cookies

Based on the features and use of certain cookies, we can distinguish different categories:
Strictly necessary cookies These cookies are essential for TreI SPA websites to run properly. They are used to manage log-ins and access to member features of the website. The duration of cookies is strictly limited to the session in progress (when you close the browser they are deleted), except for areas of the website only accessed by logging in (user recognition) where cookies with a longer duration are used (expiring after 30 days) to recognise the visitor’s computer for this limited period. By disabling these cookies, you might not be able to use the services accessed by logging in. The public part of the websites shall normally remain usable.
Analytics and performance cookies These cookies are used to collect and analyse the traffic and use of the website anonymously. While they do not identify the user, these cookies detect whether the same user returns to the website at different times. They also monitor the system and improve its performance and usability. These cookies may be disabled without any loss of functionality.
Profiling cookies These permanent cookies are used to identify (anonymously and not) users’ preferences and improve their browsing experience.

Third party cookies

When you visit a website, you may be sent cookies from the website visited (“first party”) and from websites run by other organisations (“third parties”). An important example of this can be found in the “social plug-ins” for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These parts of the visited page are generated directly by these websites and integrated into the host website’s page. Social plug-ins are most commonly used to share content on social networks.
The presence of these plug-ins involves sending cookies to and from websites all run by third parties. Please refer to the relevant policies to see how the information collected by “third parties” is managed. To guarantee greater transparency and convenience, below you will find the web addresses of the different cookie management policies and procedures.

Google Analytics

TreI SPA websites also include certain add-ons sent by Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). This also involves third party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the host website’s performance (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyse information anonymously on user behaviour at TreI SPA websites (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it to compile reports for TreI SPA operators on its website activity. This website does not use (nor does it allow third parties to use) the Google analytics tool to monitor or collect identifying personal information. Google does not associate IP addresses with any other data it holds, nor does it link IP addresses to users’ identities. Google may also disclose this information to third parties if required by law or when these third parties process this information for Google.

Users may selectively disable Google Analytics by installing the opt-out add-on provided by Google onto their browsers. To disable Google Analytics, please click on the following link:

Cookie duration

Certain cookies (session cookies) only remain active until the browser is closed or the user logs out. Other cookies “survive” after the browser has been closed and are available on subsequent user visits.
These are known as persistent cookies and their duration is set by the server when they are created. In some cases, an expiry date is set and in other cases their duration is indefinite.
TreI SPA does not use persistent cookies.
However, while browsing on the pages of TreI SPA websites, you may interact with websites run by third parties which might create or edit permanent and profiling cookies.

Cookie management

Users may decide whether or not to accept cookies by using their browser settings.
Please note: by fully or partially disabling technical cookies, you might not be able to use website features reserved for registered users. On the other hand, public content can be used even when cookies are fully disabled.
Disabling “third party” cookies will not spoil your browsing experience in any way.
You can alter your settings specifically for different websites and web applications. The best browsers also allow you to use different settings for “first party” and “third party” cookies.
For example, by using the Tools->Options->Privacy menu on Firefox, you can access a control panel where you can choose whether to accept the different types of cookies and delete them.
